About Biothane

Biothane is a coated webbing material that looks and feels similar to leather - but performs far better in wet conditions. It's flexible, lightweight, and genuinely durable. Unlike leather, it won't stiffen, crack, or absorb odour over time. It's a practical choice for active dogs - and a stylish one too, with a smooth finish that holds its appearance walk after walk.

Every collar from Dottie's is made by hand at our UK workshop. We use solid metal hardware throughout - no hollow fittings, no corners cut. The double rivet detail beside the D-ring isn't just a design choice; it distributes load and adds real strength where the collar works hardest. It's the kind of detail you only notice when you look closely, but it makes a difference every single day.

Measure around your dog's neck where the collar sits, then add 2-3cm for comfort. Choose the size range that fits your measurement.

Machine wash at 30° on a gentle cycle. Air dry flat — do not tumble dry. Avoid prolonged soaking. Hardware can be wiped with a damp cloth. Biothane collars can be rinsed clean with warm water.
